Blood donation in Phuket Town tomorrow

PHUKET: The Phuket Vocational College at Saphan Hin will hold a blood donation drive in honor of HM The King from 9am to 3pm tomorrow.

The donation will be held at Building 5 at the school, which is easily reached by public transport due to its location at the southern terminus of Pink Bus Route 3.

The drive is part of a nationwide project by CP All Public Company Limited, which holds the master franchise for 7-Eleven convenience stores in the Kingdom.

The goal is to encourage the youth to donate blood to help others in need.

“The blood we collect will be given to the Phuket Red Cross to supply hospitals in Phuket as well as other provinces in the Andaman coast,” said Miss Pattaraporn Preedapon, the school’s public relations officer.

“There is no specific blood group that we are looking for. We are open for all types, but make sure that you are healthy and ready to donate the blood,” she added.

Donors can be aged from 17 to 60 years, though minors need to complete a parental consent form.

People more than 61 years can donate, but they must submit a doctor’s certificate proving they are healthy, she added.
