Black Eyed Peas’ rapper throws down beats for Philippines charity event this Sunday
PHUKET: Grammy award-winning rapper and member of the Black Eyed Peas, apl.de.ap, will be performing at the Xana Beach Club tomorrow to raise much-needed cash to support victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan, which devastated the central Philippines last week.
Celebrities from around the world have expressed their support for those suffering in the Philippines by raising money through charity events. In Phuket, it’s the Filipino-born international pop star who will be using his talent and name to promote humanitarian aid for the victims of the recent typhoon.
Entry to the event is a minimum donation 300 baht for adults and 150 baht for children.
“We will also be collecting donations throughout the event for those who wish to give more,” Annabel Fox from Xana Beach Club told the Phuket Gazette.
All donations will go to Give2Asia, a charity selected by apl.de.ap.
“Give2Asia has opened the Typhoon Yolanda Recovery Fund and is working with its field team to coordinate short-term relief efforts and identify needs for long-term recovery,” the charity’s website says.
The event starts at 5pm, with Kensho warming the audience up before apl.de.ap hits the stage.
