Bank, Bass, Boss make Sgt Major’s day

PHUKET CITY: Staff at the maternity ward at Vachira Phuket Hospital received a treat on Sunday when Pol Sgt Maj Supat Ruangsri and his wife K. Thipawan arrived to have their triplets delivered.
The couple arrived from their home in Phang Nga Town after K. Thipawan, who was eight months pregnant, started having contractions about two hours earlier.
Sgt Maj Supat, an officer stationed at Phang Nga Town Police Station, yesterday told the Gazette, “The first born is Jirapat, or “Bank”, who was born weighing 1.7 kilograms. Bank is still in the incubator.
“The second born is Chinnapat, or “Bass”, weighing slightly more at 1.8kg, and the third is Theerapat, or “Boss”. He weighs 1.9kg,” he added.
All three babes were born by cesarean section.
“The doctor brought Bass to my wife today so she can breast-feed him by herself,” Maj Supat said.
The new arrivals in one swoop have doubled the number of family members. “We already have a boy, Pattarapon, or “Best”. He’s nearly six years old,” Maj Supat said.
“At first my neighbor said that since I have three boys I should call them U, B and C because it’s easy to remember. But now I already have new nicknames and full names for them, so I can remember each one,” Maj Supat joked.
On a more serious note, he said, “When we return home, we must ask relatives for some help and I will certainly have to help my wife to take care of our sons.
“And now my wife has already been sterilized,” he added.
