Bagged testicle puts Scott Dann out of action
PHUKET: “Our physio [Dave Fevre] cannot believe it. He has two players [Dann and Givet] out with problems he has never come across before in all his years of experience.”
Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean explains that striker Scott Dann has sustained a ruptured testicle while putting the ball in the back of the net during the Rovers’ painful 2-1 defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion (the “Baggies”) on Saturday.
The 24 year-old continued to play despite discomfort in the closing stages of the game but underwent emergency surgery on Saturday evening after driving to hospital following dramatic swelling of the injured testicle, according to reports in the English media.
Defender Gael Givet is to undergo heart surgery after complaining of palpitations.
All of this comes during a period of speculation regarding the possible sacking of Kean for a run of poor results.
