Pattaya police visit South Pattaya market following thefts

To combat escalating thefts, market vendors in South Pattaya have ramped up security measures by installing multiple locks on their stalls and setting up CCTV cameras. This proactive response follows a spate of thefts reported to The Pattaya News on March 18, which has left local vendors on edge.

To address the growing concerns, Pattaya police officers visited the market on Sunday, March 23. After assessing the situation, they praised the vendors for their efforts to secure their properties. However, the police recommended installing even more CCTV cameras for improved surveillance and urged vendors to step up their security measures further.

In addition to these recommendations, Pattaya Police announced plans to increase patrols in the area, particularly during high-risk times, to deter further criminal activity. The increased police presence aims to provide vendors and shoppers with a sense of safety and prevent any future incidents.

In similar news, a motorbike thief caused chaos in Pattaya, spoiling a student’s birthday party. CCTV footage from March 23 at 8pm showed the thief stealing a black Honda PCX in Soi Buakhao at 4.15am.

The incident began when Thanaphon’s friend borrowed his bike for an errand, returning it to its parking spot. After confirming its return, Thanaphon asked the friend to hide the remote key in the bike’s front compartment.

When he later went to retrieve the bike, it had disappeared, a costly moment of carelessness leading to the theft.
