74 year old Swede found dead in his Udon Thani home

A 74 year old Swedish man was found dead in his Udon Thani home yesterday. He is believed to have died about a week ago. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances. His body was sent for an autopsy at the Udon Thani Hospital.
A neighbour called police at 6.45pm last night to check the house in Moo 1 village in Tambon Ban Suam in Muang district after the man failed to answer the door for two consecutive days when a friend attempted to visit him.
The neighbour, 64 year old Maliwan Promsiri, told police that she sensed a strong smell coming out from the house so she decided to call police.
The man was found dead inside the toilet of the house. Doctors determined the man died about a week ago.
Maliwan said the man, who was known to suffer from several ailments, lived alone since his Thai wife left him.
Police found no traces of violence in the house and all of his valuables remained intact.
