Worms emerge from boy’s face after medium’s treatment (video)
A Thai man in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat took to social media to share a strange experience after witnessing worms coming out of his young nephew’s face after the boy suffered from toothache and sought treatment from a spiritual medium.
The TikTok user Nattawut Phetsritong shared a video in which he removed thin white worms from his nephew’s right cheek on his account, golf_25460, on Sunday, August 25.
“This boy is my nephew. He had a toothache and discovered that there was a hole in his tooth. I took him to a spiritual medium in the community and the medium applied herbal medicine to his cheek. And as everyone sees in the video, something comes out of his cheek.”
What Nattawut claimed to emerge from the boy’s cheek were worms. His cheek appeared to have multiple small holes, which were believed to be the worms’ habitat.
Many Thai netizens shared that a spiritual medium in their community used the same treatment to cure toothaches, and it was successful. Others expressed disagreement, saying the boy needed a dentist, not a medium.
Nattawut revealed in the comments section that his nephew no longer felt pain in his tooth and the swollen cheek also improved.
Channel 7 sought an opinion about the incident from a dentist at the Dental Institute under the Department of Medical Services, Saithip Leeworakan. Saithip suggested that the boy might have used his dirty hands to touch his cheek frequently due to the toothache.
Parasite eggs under his nails might be transferred to his cheek and live in the holes on his face. The white worms that came out of his face were thought to be threadworms or pinworms. The boy’s symptoms may have improved because of the removal of these worms.
It was not clear whether the boy eventually sought treatment from a professional doctor or not.
