PHUKET: Police will soon obtain arrest warrants for another two suspects believed to have played a part in the bomb attack in Koh Samui after announcing the names of six wanted suspects last Sunday, national police chief Gen Somyot Poompanmouang said yesterday.
The authorities will also launch a hunt for the masterminds once police can produce concrete evidence, he said.
Gen Somyot said police have not yet been able to link this bomb on the tourist island and other incidents in nearby Surat Thani to insurgency in the far South.
Three suspects linked to the attack are in military custody, including two security guards from the shopping mall where the blast took place, while six others – all from the South – are being detained by police.
Gen Somyot did not provide further details about the two new suspects.
