Thai teacher suspected of creating explicit images of schoolgirls
Thai schoolgirls in the southern province of Pattalung suspected their male teacher of creating explicit images of them and sharing them on the Instagram application.
A schoolgirl and her parents filed a complaint at Khok Cha-ngai Police Station today, August 23, after she came across nude images of herself on Instagram. She brought the matter to teachers but the school director urged her not to take legal action, worried about the damage to the school’s reputation.
The girl chose not to comply with the plea and visited the police station with her parents. The girl also invited four other friends to the police station with her as their lewd pictures were on the application as well.
Matichon reported that more than 10 students fell victim to the perverted teacher. Their pictures were edited and shared on the application and among other students at their school. Police had not yet investigated the matter, awaiting the rest of the victims to file complaints.
One guardian of a victim told the media that she and others were more worried because the school did not step forward to protect the students.
Each schoolgirl revealed that they suspected a male teacher who usually displayed inappropriate conduct when with young girls and had photo editing skills.
Matichon reporters visited the school to question them about the matter but one male school staff member asked the reporters to leave saying it was an internal issue and would be handled by the school. Journalists should stop getting involved.”
In a related report in April, a Thai man was arrested for creating explicit images of many celebrities using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and sharing them in a private social media group, collecting membership fees from the group members.
Last year, two Thai men were caught using an AI program to create nude pictures of more than 30 Thai celebrities. They sold them on the Vkontakte, also known as the VK application. Their account had over 120,000 followers, but the amount they earned from the illegal operation was not made public.
