Thai teacher escapes with minor injuries after car crashes into truck
A Thai teacher crashed her sedan into a six-wheel truck on a bypass road in the southern province of Phetchaburi but fortunately sustained only minor injuries.
Officers from the Cha-am Police Station were alerted to the accident and injuries on the Cha-am-Pranburi Bypass Road yesterday, October 1, and rushed to the scene with rescuers from the Sawang Sunphet Foundation. Upon arrival, officers found a white sedan that crashed into the back of the truck.
The injured driver, 32 year old Monticha Paenthong, was outside the vehicle. She sustained only a minor injury near her left eye. The left side of her car was completely damaged but fortunately, no one was sitting there.
Monticha told the police that she was in a rush to visit her ill daughter at a hospital in the central province of Pathum Thani. She lost control of her car upon reaching the accident scene, which caused her to crash into the back of the lorry.
In a related report, two other victims of a car accident involving a truck on September 27 in the Isaan province of Khon Kaen were not as fortunate as Monticha. The two were neighbours and travelled to a bank in the city centre of the province together to withdraw 10,000 baht in cash from the digital wallet policy.
While on their way back home, their motorcycle crashed into a six-wheel truck on the Manchakini-Ban Tum Road, resulting in one of them dying at the scene. The other man was severely injured and lost consciousness. He was transported to a nearby hospital but updates on his condition have not been made public.
Another accident involving a lorry was reported this morning, October 2. A 15 year old Thai boy lost his life on Suvarnabhumi Canal Road in Samut Prakan province, near Bangkok, after a six-wheel truck collided with his motorcycle. His mother, who was the passenger, was injured.
The truck driver claimed that he did not see the victim’s motorcycle and was unaware of how he collided with them. He only realised the accident occurred when he felt his vehicle run over something and got out to check.
