Thai MP’s car catches fire after inspecting Lampang floods

People’s Party MP Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn experienced a frightening moment when the car transporting him caught fire after returning from inspecting flood conditions in Lampang, en route to Chiang Mai Airport.

A Good Samaritan helped extinguish the fire, revealing they suddenly smelled something burning and saw smoke before flames erupted.

Wiroj, a list MP from the People’s Party, shared his alarming experience on social media yesterday, September 23. After visiting flood-affected areas in Lampang Luang subdistrict, Ko Kha district, Lampang province, he reported that the car transporting him caught fire on the way to Chiang Mai Airport.

“A little while ago, the car that was taking me to the airport caught fire. Thank you, Wiwat, a good citizen who stopped to help extinguish the fire and kindly gave me a ride to the airport.”

Further details emerged in the comments, where Wiroj explained that while on the way from Lampang to Chiang Mai Airport, he noticed a burning smell. After stopping to investigate, he saw smoke billowing from the front of the car, followed by visible flames.

The People’s Party MP immediately started searching for water to help extinguish the fire. During this time, Wiroj attempted to flag down passing cars for assistance until a Good Samaritan named Wiwat stopped to help.

Following the incident, Wiroj promptly called fellow MP Tipha Pavinasateer to inform her of the situation. Tipha rushed to the scene to assist the team members, ensuring everyone could safely return home to Lampang province. Wiroj expressed his gratitude towards Tipha for her swift response and support, reported KhaoSod.
