A Thai app-based cab driver filed a complaint with the police after the manager of a taxi and baht bus company damaged his car near Pattaya Walking Street in the early hours of this morning.

The victim, 25 year old Adisak Rachom, filed a complaint at Mueang Pattaya Police Station at 1am of today. Adisak said the incident occurred after he parked his black Nissan March to drop off his brother at the entrance of Pattaya Walking Street.

Adisak explained that he is an app-based driver but didn’t have a passenger that night. He was just dropping off his brother for a party with his friends. However, the public transport manager, 47 year old Pranot Katethong, might have assumed he was trying to steal passengers from him.

Pranote was reportedly responsible for managing the queue and passengers for taxi and public bus drivers.

Adisak disclosed that Pranote chased him and kicked his car very hard. He was frightened and fled from the scene to report the incident to the police.

Pranot was summoned to the police station following the complaint. He claimed that he urged Adisak to move his car as it was blocking the traffic, but Adisak did not follow his suggestion. He then became angry and kicked Adisak’s car.

According to the police report, the two parties came to an agreement and Pranot agreed to pay compensation for the damage to Adisak’s car. As a result, the police did not file charges against either man.

In related Pattaya news, chaos broke out on Pattaya Walking Street at the same time. According to Channel 7, a group of 20 foreigners were fighting outside entertainment venues on the street. Many Thai and foreign visitors took pictures and recorded videos of the altercation.

They later dispersed after Pattaya City’s special task force arrived at the scene. Some of the group were injured in the incident and were taken to the hospital. The details of the conflict were not reported at the time of publication.
