A security guard on Monday found the dead body of a motorcyclist at the entrance of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) office in Bangkok’s Bang Na neighbourhood. It is suspected that the body had been there for three days during the Songkran Festival.

On Monday, April 17, the first working day after the Songkran Holiday, a security guard detected an unpleasant smell emanating from a gap near the fence and noticed hundreds of flies gathering inside. Upon investigation, he was horrified to find the corpse of a man and a damaged motorcycle in the gap.

The guard then reported the incident to officers at Bang Na Police Station who rushed to the scene. According to the police, the gap was about half a metre wide at the entrance of the MEA office.

Police believe that the rider might have lost control of his motorcycle, crashed into the gap, and died as a result. His body was trapped inside for at least three days because it was the Songkran holiday and MEA staff members were off duty and not at work.

Officers managed to identify the deceased and contacted the victim’s relatives. They are currently conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the accident and his death.

This unexpected discovery shocked the MEA workers and residents. However, this is not the first time they have come across a strange and horrifying discovery.

Two weeks ago, the dead body of a Thai man was found in a small gap beneath a building in the Isaan province of Kho Kaen. The man reportedly died from an electric shock because he attempted to steal an electric cable from the building. His body was trapped in the gap for more than five days until locals detected the rotten odour and traced it back to the gap.
