The Pure Heart Foundation, in collaboration with Thai Smile Bus, has provided wheelchairs to disadvantaged disabled individuals in Thailand to enhance their mobility and improve their quality of life.

Thirarat Nawamawat, President of the Pure Heart Foundation, shared yesterday that they were contacted by Rungruthip Janthong, Ayutthaya’s provincial labour officer, and Supinya Kaenchai, Ayutthaya’s employment officer. They reported numerous disabled and elderly individuals struggling with daily life due to physical limitations. Some are elderly and lack the strength to walk as they used to, and the current economic conditions make it difficult for many families to afford wheelchairs.

Upon receiving this information from government agencies, the foundation quickly coordinated with private sector entities, such as Thai Smile Bus, to provide wheelchairs. This initiative aims to help the disabled lead more independent lives and contribute positively to their communities.

Representatives from the foundation, Thai Smile Bus, and the Thai PBS television programme Citizen Station visited Phra Ya Ban Lue subdistrict in Lat Bua Luang district, Ayutthaya province. They delivered wheelchairs to disabled individuals in the area, including those with muscular weakness and other chronic conditions like liver cancer and vascular diseases.

Thirarat expressed her support and encouraged the recipients to stay strong both physically and mentally. She also mentioned ongoing consultations with relevant agencies to provide further assistance to the community, aligning with the foundation’s mission to create public benefits for society.

Weerachai Kulsawat, head of the Phra Ya Ban Lue Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, along with his team, welcomed the foundation and participated in the wheelchair handover ceremony. Ten wheelchairs were given to disabled individuals and their families, with an additional wheelchair set to be delivered to another recipient in Uthai district.

Kulpornpass Wongmacharphinya, CEO of Thai Smile Bus, stated that as a Thai electric bus company, they are dedicated to enhancing public transportation with clean energy. Their fleet of low-floor and semi-low-floor electric buses supports Universal Design, ensuring accessibility for everyone, including the elderly and disabled. This initiative also aims to reduce pollution.

Throughout this year, Thai Smile Bus plans to continue collaborating with the Pure Heart Foundation to provide ongoing support to those in need. This effort is part of a tribute to His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday, embracing the royal initiative to improve the environment and quality of life for citizens, reported KhaoSod.
