A Lamborghini collided with a pickup truck in Phitsanulok province yesterday, January 23, leaving the pickup driver injured. However, the exotic car driver was nowhere to be seen, reportedly fleeing the scene and leaving behind tens of thousands of baht in cash inside his wrecked vehicle.

Officers from Mueang Phitsanulok Police Station responded to the incident on Singhawat Road, outside a restaurant called Krua Look Sao Kung Kaew, at approximately 1.30am. Police discovered the heavily damaged green Lamborghini near an electricity pole by the roadside.

The car, with a registration plate featuring a desirable sequence of numbers, is reportedly worth over 20 million baht. The driver was not at the scene, having left behind all his belongings, including cash amounting to tens of thousands of baht.

Rescue workers found the driver’s identification card in a bag inside the luxury car. He was reported to be a successful businessman in the province.

Nearby, a black pickup collided with the restaurant. The 32 year old pickup driver was trapped inside and sustained injuries to his face and shoulder. Rescue teams provided first aid before transporting him to a hospital.

A nearby restaurant worker, 60 year old Thongpoon, told police that the sound of the crash woke her. Upon investigating, she saw the Lamborghini driver exit his car without checking on the injured pickup driver. He then fled the scene in a sedan.

Thongpoon reported that the crash damaged the restaurant’s front window, pole, and part of the roof. However, no one has contacted the owner to take responsibility for the damage. Neither Thongpoon nor other locals witnessed the incident itself.

The Lamborghini driver’s name has not been disclosed, but Channel 7 reported that he was previously involved in another high-profile crash last year. On that occasion, he reportedly crashed his 5-million-baht Porsche into an electricity pole. The vehicle caught fire, but the driver escaped unharmed.

The media noted that the site of the Lamborghini crash was not far from the location of the Porsche incident.

Police have yet to determine which driver was at fault for the latest accident.
