Foreign man knocks out Thai transwoman on Pattaya Walking Street
Security camera footage depicting a foreign man punching a Thai transwoman in the face, causing her to lose consciousness on Pattaya Walking Street, went viral yesterday.
The CCTV footage, recorded around 3am on June 17, was widely shared by Thai media outlets. It showed a heated argument between the transwoman in a yellow dress and two foreign men wearing white T-shirts.
Initially attempting to walk away, the foreigners were followed by the transwoman who continued shouting at them. Suddenly, one of the men punched the transwoman in the face, causing her to lose consciousness and fell backwards onto the ground.
Security guards from a nearby bar rushed to help her, while other transwomen, believed to be her friends, chased the two foreigners.
Channel 7 reported a bloodstain at the scene but the victim had not yet filed a police report, according to the Mueang Pattaya Police Station.
A Thai witness, 37 year old Ton, told Channel 7 that he did not know the details of the argument but saw the transwoman arguing with the two foreigners before the attack. Ton added that he saw blood coming from her nose and mouth.
Mueang Pattaya Police Station officers urged the transwoman to file a complaint to legally punish the attacker.
In related news, in Patong, Phuket, two Thai transwomen physically assaulted a foreign man. The video went viral, and netizens speculated the transwomen were sex workers and the fight was over a service fee.
Several similar incidents have occurred recently. In May, a group of Thai transwomen attacked a foreign man on Bangla Road in Phuket, who allegedly slapped one of them.
In the same month, a physical altercation broke out between transwomen from Pattaya and Phuket on Soi Bangla. A group of local transsexuals were seen attacking a ladyboy from Pattaya. Patong police later summoned the transwomen in the video for questioning, and one of them claimed that the Pattaya ladyboy started the fight.
