A food delivery rider offered some food for thought when he shared a humorous video on TikTok after being mistaken for a customer’s lover and facing a complaint from the customer’s boyfriend.

The video, shared on the TikTok account @basnobu23 yesterday, May 16, shows the food delivery rider, Bas, talking on the phone with the customer’s boyfriend.

Customer’s boyfriend: Why are you calling? Are you her lover?
Rider: No, no, I’m not.
Customer’s boyfriend: F*ck you!
Rider: Hey, it’s not what you’re thinking! I’m not her lover.
Customer’s boyfriend: Are you not? You call her often, and you say you’re not her lover. Then who are you?
Rider: You’re misunderstanding me. I’m not her lover.
Customer’s boyfriend: It’s too often. Stop calling her!
Rider: I’m so confused now. Bro, listen to me! I’m not her lover! I’m a Grab rider, coming to deliver her food.
Customer’s boyfriend: Huh, Grab rider? (Darling, are you ordering food from Grab?) You are waiting to deliver food, right?
Rider: Yes. Why are you complaining so much?

Bas’s video garnered over 4,600 likes, nearly 1,000 comments, and over 1,000 shares from Thai TikTok users. Bas later explained in the comments that he called the woman multiple times because she did not answer her phone.

Netizens flooded the comments section with amused reactions, finding the video highly entertaining. Some criticised the woman for failing to inform her boyfriend about placing a food order.

When questioned about the outcome, Bas disclosed that he delivered the food to the couple’s residence as usual. They collected the food together, and the boyfriend appeared embarrassed by his earlier reaction.

Bas further mentioned that this was not the first time such an incident had occurred. He stated that many customers had mistakenly assumed him to be their partners’ lover before.

A similar incident was reported in April in Pattaya, where a Bolt driver was mistaken for his passenger’s lover. Unfortunately, the situation escalated when the passenger’s ex-boyfriend smashed the Bolt driver’s car and threatened him with an iron bar. Luckily, both the Bolt driver and his passenger escaped unharmed.
