Chiang Mai Night Safari has introduced two young striped hyenas, a male and a female, following in the footsteps of the much-loved tiger Eva. The hyenas’ debut occurred yesterday, February 3, attracting many visitors charmed by the new arrivals.

The young hyenas, born to parents Sonic and Sanya on December 13 last year, represent a significant success in breeding rare species at the Safari.

The cubs, just over a month old, have quickly gained attention for their adorable appearances, capturing the hearts of many who have suggested names such as Soda, Song Joong-ki, Sakoo, and Saiua.

Visitors eager to see the young hyenas can do so daily at the Tiger Kingdom building from 11am. The cubs are showcased near the enclosures of Eva and Luna, the two resident female tigers at Chiang Mai Night Safari, reported KhaoSod.

Another sensation at the Safari is a 16 year old clouded leopard named Mangpor, delighting social media users with its chubby appearance and playful personality at Chiang Mai Night Safari.

Often mistaken for an oversized domestic cat, the leopard has attracted a surge of visitors eager to witness its adorable antics firsthand.

Mangpor is a resident of the Jaguar Trail, a popular attraction at the Chiang Mai Night Safari, an expansive open zoo in Hang Dong district, Chiang Mai province.

Clouded leopards, part of the Felidae family, are recognised for their distinctive cloud-like markings on their brownish-green fur. As a vulnerable species, their rarity makes sightings like Mangpor’s all the more special.

After videos and photos of Mangpor’s plump figure and affectionate behaviour surfaced online, they quickly went viral, with social media users falling in love with the feline’s irresistibly cute nature. Many expressed their excitement about visiting the zoo, with some leaving playful comments such as:

“Are there tickets to cuddle its belly? So chubby… I just want to hug it!”
