A tour bus crash in Thailand’s Krabi province left the bus driver with moderate injuries, however, the bus’s 42 passengers fortunately survived.

The bus crashed into a power pole on Petch Kasem Road in the South Klong Tom district on Monday. Witnesses said that a pickup truck cut in front of the bus, and the driver avoided the collision before crashing into the power pole.

The bus was travelling from Satun to Phuket with 42 passengers and a bus crew. The driver sustained medium injuries while 33 others suffered minor injuries, The Phuket Express reported. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Thai police did not release the names of those involved in the accident and it was unclear if any immediate legal charges would take place.

This news comes just a week after another tour bus crash in Thailand.

On April 24, a tour bus driver fled the scene after losing control and crashing in Maha Sahakham province in northeast Thailand. One person was killed in the crash and 40 more people were injured. Officers at Rat Charoen Police Station were informed that a Thai Sriram Company’s tour bus from Ubon Ratchathani to Bangkok lost control and crashed into a lamppost on Highway 202 near the U-turn in front of Ban Nong Hi village in Mueang Tao subdistrict, Phayakkhaphum Phisai district.

Back in March, there was yet another tour bus crash in Thailand. In the early morning of March 23, a tour bus crashed into a power pole on Patong Hill, with the driver suffering serious injuries to his leg.

The bus slammed into a power pole on the final curve heading into Patong on Phra Baramee Road. Police and rescuers arrived on the scene to find the red Phiphairat Tour bus beside a roadside concrete wall. The bus had hit the power pole before barely missing the wall. The impact of the crash disabled a government CCTV camera.
