Ice-cream man shot dead in Patong apartment

At 5.30am (November18), 39 year old Punya Yingdung surrendered to Patong police for killing a man.
The crime scene was the 4th floor of the Pumpui Bar staff’s apartment in Soi Suk Charoen, Phrametta Road, Patong. Police found 47 year old Ampan Suksawad covered in blood. He was shot once, the 9mm bullet hitting him near his collarbone.
Punya, the shooter, who is the owner of the apartment told the police that Ampan was an ice-cream man visiting the apartment to see his woman friend. The two were talking on the stairs of fourth floor, the eventual shooting scene.
Punya saw them and asked where he comes from, which apparently angered him resulting in an harsh argument.
Punya went up to his room on the 5th floor to avoid the fight but, according to his story to Police, Ampan followed him. Seeing that he was being chased, Punya shot him with his 9mm gun. The man escaped after getting shot on the fifth floor but died when he reached the fourth floor.
Punya has been charged with murder and is now in jail at the Phuket Court awaiting a hearing.
