Goddess of Victory: Nikke ad slammed for depicting Thai gamers as horny fat boys

Gamers in Thailand have slammed a video featuring a fat Thai boy becoming aroused while playing Goddess of Victory: Nikke.

The video was released in November 4 last year to much acclaim in the gamer community.

Goddess of Victory: Nikke is an immersive sci-fi RPG game, where you can recruit and lead a squad of anime girls who specialize in using guns and other futuristic weapons. As players progress, they can collect unique characters with specialized combat abilities to build their ultimate team.

The anime girls in the game are beautiful. They wear sexy revealing clothes and shake their booties while causing carnage with their weapons. Understandably, it is very popular with teenage boys. But the promotional video of the game released on Wednesday, January 11 left many scratching their heads and made the gaming community in Thailand, angry.

The promo shows an overweight teenage boy at a packed birthday party becoming aroused, or excited, while playing the game. In one camera angle, it looks as if the boy is masturbating to the game while he imagines the three beautiful anime maidens behaving seductively around him. Watch the video HERE!

The gamer community was offended by the ad’s portrayal of the average Goddess of Victory: Nikke player and a backlash ensued which led to publisher Level Infinite removing it.

The Thailand page responsible for the game issued an apology:

“Dear All Commanders

“The team published a new online advertisement on January 11 on the game’s social media channels in the Thai region. We have received comments from some players that suggest inappropriate content and style of presentation within such advertisements.

“The team must apologize for any content and style of presentation that results in players being extremely uncomfortable or dissatisfied. For this mistake, the team acknowledged the lack of care in considering the presentation of the content in the advertisement. The team has already removed and suspended the distribution of such advertisements from the official social media channels of the Thai region in all channels of the game.

“The team would like to thank you for all the comments. The team will take comments and suggestions from players to improve and develop content. The form of advertising and promoting the game to be better in the future. Including careful and thorough refrain from presenting more sensitive content in various fields

“The team apologizes for the incident that happened once again.”

Maybe next time the video game publisher should ask Perth Tanapon, Saint Suppapong, or Mean Phiravich to advertise the video.
