An alleged gold shop robber dropped his Thai identification card as he ran off with 2 gold necklaces worth more than 110,000 baht.

The suspect, a food delivery driver, allegedly stole the jewelry from a gold store at a Tesco Lotus in Bangkok’s Phattanakarn district. Shop employees say a man wearing a hat and face mask asked to see 2 gold necklaces, pretending to make a purchase before grabbing the jewelry and driving off on his motorbike.

Klongton Police found an identification card on the floor and went to the address on the card. At the home, police found 34 year old Pathomphong Sukanaen who allegedly confessed to the robbery. He says he was working as food delivery driver, but his job didn’t pay him enough to make ends meet. Police arrested him on theft charges.
