Tourist hotspots in the Andaman Sea, including the famous Mu Ko Similan National Park on Similan Islands, will reopen next Tuesday, October 15, just in time for the high season. The Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation (DNP) has given the green light for visitors until May 15 next year.

Among the standout destinations is Koh Similan, the largest of the Similan Islands, famous for its natural beauty and iconic landmarks like Sail Rock and the quirky, boot-shaped Donald Duck rock. With its white coral-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, this island paradise is a favourite among snorkelers, divers, and sun-seekers alike.

To ensure visitors have a smooth and safe experience, national park officials have pulled out all the stops. Safety equipment and facilities have been thoroughly checked and repaired where needed.

Divers have also installed buoys to mark the snorkelling boundaries off Koh Similan and Koh Ba Ngu. Over at Koh Payu and Koh Bon, damaged ropes and equipment at piers used by ferries have been replaced.
