Bangkok sets rules for a dry Songkran, large events must submit a plan

It’s going to be another dry Songkran in Bangkok. No water gun flights. No buckets of water poured on passersby. City officials say strict measures will be in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 during the holiday, which was extended and now stretches from April 10 to 15.

While water splashing is banned, Songkran’s traditional activities, like religious ceremonies and paying respect to elders, is still allowed, but under strict guidelines. Under new measures by the city’s communicable disease committee, large events with more than 100 people will need to submit a plan outlining disease control measures. Events drawing in more than 300 people will need permission from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Large events need to be in an open area with good ventilation to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Any activities involving large groups of people that involve close contact or “disorder,” like water flights and foam parties, are not allowed, according to Nation Thailand.

Nation Thailand also reports that event organisers should avoid catering or hosting long meals.

You still can make merit too what you believe in… and you can still have your party with family & friends.
Put the music on have a sing – song and a dance, you have got 5-days of fun too celebrate.
It’s been tough for everyone. Here in the greatest state of Australia, that is n.s.w .
All Covid-19 restrictions here in n.s.w come Monday will be all lifted . We can go & do our normal things.
Everything open 24/7. We can dance- sing, get drunk the lot,(but things can change of a drop of a hat)
Good manners cost you nothing, but worth a fortune. ?????????????

Wow, Fred, that sounds wonderful. Hopefully all of you “adults” behave yourselves, or the Nanny will take away your privileges at the drop of a hat, and ground the lot of you to your dwellings until you can learn to ask “how high,” when you’re all told to jump, mate.

Dreqo, we did ask how high do we have too jump, we washed our hands, face mask on, 2 meter rule.
Stayed in our dwellings, our privileges now have been returned too us all. But the virus is not over yet.
Our brilliant success has worked for us, sometimes you have too listen too the change of command.
We can not afford to loose anchor, too save someone getting sick or dying what else could we do.
If the nanny is the boss sobeit, she told us to behave, and we did. We did have each other’s back here in Australia, and New Zealand. We did learn Dreqo, the nanny is entitled to have a brandy or two.
    MATE “”””
