In Chiang Rai, soldiers from the Pha Muang task force fatally shot the 2 suspected drug traffickers during a gunfire exchange. They seized 1,080,000 methamphetamine pills as well as some crystal methamphetamine. Reports do not go into detail about the fatal shootings.

Authorities made another bust at Chiang Rai’s Saen Mai checkpoint and found 9 rucksacks with 120,000 methamphetamine pills.

In the northeast province Amnat Charoen, Suranaree task force soldiers and drug suppression police seized 400,000 methamphetamine pills hidden in a cassava field. Police arrested 2 men.

In the Isaan province Loei, the Surasakmontri task force and local police found 8 million methamphetamine pills hidden in 40 fertiliser sacks at a garbage dump by the Hueang River.
