A woman and child have died after being discovered together at a house in Cornwall yesterday morning.

Emergency medical treatment was administered to both at the property in the hamlet of Fletchersbridge, near Bodmin, on Saturday morning.

Emergency services initially responded to a welfare concern report at 10.10am yesterday.

Detective Inspector Neil Blanchard of Devon and Cornwall Police described the event as tragic and incredibly sad.

He stated, “The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained, and we are investigating to determine the full circumstances of what occurred.”

Blanchard also reassured the community that this appears to be an isolated incident and no other persons are being sought in connection with the deaths.
