PHUKET: It’s been four weeks since I signed up for the Thanyapura Total Body Transformation program – and I now feel better than I have in a long, long time.
Long gone are the initial days, the days when I could barely make it through a training session. The change in this particular department is simply incredible. Not only can I exercise without suffering, but I have actually come to love it!
In fact, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – when I join the transformers group at Thanyapura – are my favorite days of the week.
On my days off, I simply cannot stay put. I end up riding my bike, jogging or performing a simple workout in the living room of my house – something that would have been absolutely unthinkable just four short weeks ago. It turns out that exercising is among the most addictive things out there. The difference between it and other addictive habits, though, is that it’s good for you.
I’ve found the more difficult part of the process to be the diet. The list of foods that I’m not supposed to eat is painfully long, and includes some of my favorites. No cheese? No bread? No beer? That’s cruel!
Still, I do, for the most part, prevail. I have learned new ways to enjoy my veggies, and I have finally succeeded in ditching sweetened soda.
What are the results of all these changes so far? Well, I am now two kilograms lighter. The bigger change, however, even bigger than what my bathroom scale or a photo might show, is the change is inside. I feel healthier, stronger and more energetic. I’m sure there is no going back to the old ways for me.
As for the remaining four weeks of the program: Bring it on! I can’t wait!
