Volunteer training to get ready for school-term traffic snarls

“There are many schools and educational institutions in Phuket. This will definitely affect the island’s traffic, especially in Phuket Town, when they’re arriving and departing.”

Yesterday (May 9) at the Phuket City Police Station, the Phuket City Police Chief Col Sompong Tiparpakun and the Phuket City Traffic Police Deputy Chief Lt Col Pongpop Prasoppichai lunched the training for volunteers to assist with traffic in school zones.

“We need cooperation from Civil Defense Volunteers to properly prepare traffic measures to facilitate road users and the safety of the people arriving and departing from schools.”

Lt Col Pongpop says, “We are preparing for the traffic flow at the start of the new school semester to solve traffic jams. We already know the trouble spots and common areas for traffic jams. Road users need to be serviced with a good traffic flow when going past these locations. The training aims to increase more skill in traffic management services to volunteers.”
