The Phuket Disabled People’s Association, together with the Phuket Municipality, is holding a new event, “Run 2 Gether Phuket Town” on October 1. 600 runners are expected to join the charity event.
“Run 2 Gether Phuket Town” aims to gather both disabled and able-bodied runners to run together to promote the importance of exercise. So far, more than 200 disabled participants have already registered.
The President of Phuket Disabled People’s Association, Udon Pinyo, says “this activity also helps encourage disabled people to workout and to promote sign language among local people to understand deaf and mute citizens and the problems they encounter.”
The day’s activities will take place out the front of Limelight Avenue mall from 5am and the runners will be taking a route through Old Phuket Town including Dibuk Rd, Thepkasattree Rd, Phuket Rd, Rassada Rd, Yaowarat Rd and Thalang Rd.
