Pickup driver survives after high-speed collision with speed sign

A pickup truck driver has survived after the vehicle he was driving collided with a speed sign on the side of the road in Thalang this early morning.

The Thalang Police were notified of the incident on Thepkrasattri Road, southbound, in Thalang at 1am early this morning.

Kusoldharm Rescue workers arrived to find the damaged pickup truck at right angles on the side of the road. The male driver, with an estimated age of 30-35 year old, had sustained injuries to his forehead and right hand. The driver was picked up by his friend after rescue workers gave him first aid.

The damaged pickup was taken to the Thalang Police Station. At this stage police believed that the driver was driving at high speed at the time of the incident. They speculate that he lost control of his vehicle at the curve and collided with the speed limit sign. Police are checking nearby CCTV and will continue their investigation.
