The Phuket Governor Phakaphong Tavipatana has confirmed that Phuket has enough water supplies for residential use without restrictions.

The PWA announced start dates for odd/even day water restrictions to start in some areas of the island from today (Friday).

But a day after the announcement, the PWA followed up by cancelling the restrictions.

Governor Phakaphong says, “We have confirmed that we have enough water in all three Phuket reservoirs – Bang Neaw Dam Reservoir, Bang Wad Reservoir and Klong Katha Reservoir.”

“However we are studying water management measures in order to protect and prevent any problems about water supplies.”

“Please do not panic about the issue. I can confirm that we have enough water supply for everyone.”

The initial announcement was mad by the PWA including phone numbers to call for additional information. The Thaiger tried to call the phone numbers for a number of hours without any answer.
