Minivan driver escapes serious injury after colliding with an ice truck in Thalang

A minivan diver has escaped serious injury after colliding into the back of an ice truck yesterday in Thalang.

Thalang Police were notified about the incident on Thepkrasattri Road, southbound, near the Srisoonthorn Temple (Wat Baan Pohn).

Police and rescue workers arrived to find a minivan driver with the front almost totally destroyed. No passenger were inside the minivan at the time of the accident. The 35 year old minivan driver, Jaturong Weerapan, sustained head and chest injuries and was transferred to the Thalang Hospital.

Bags of ice were found scattered all over the road. A truck was waiting on the side of the road with its rear end damaged.

46 year old Witsanu Intoe, the truck driver, told police that he was carrying ice bags heading to Thalang. He says that, whilst heading towards his destination, the minivan collided into the back of his truck.

Police are continuing their investigation and will speak to the minivan driver again this morning.
