Man dies in Phuket road accident at Samkong underpass entrance
A car diver has died after losing control of his vehicle near the Samkong Underpass on Bypass Road.
The Phuket City Police were notified of the accident on Chalerm Phrakiet Rama 9 (Bypass Road), southbound, near the entrance of the Samkong Underpass at 1.12am this morning.
Police and rescue workers arrived to find a damaged black Honda sedan. The body of a man, later identified as 39 year old Weerawat Sarakoo from Samut Prakan, was found inside the vehicle.
Police say that Mr Weerasak lost control of his vehicle. He collided with the side of the underpass and a power pole. Police will be checking CCTV footage to ascertain the car’s speed at the time.
