Well bore rig takes a tumble on Patak Road

PHUKET: Police have played down a “minor” accident that left a rig for boring wells strewn across Patak Road near Chalong Circle yesterday morning.

“No people will be charged,” said a Karon Traffic Policeman, who asked not to be named.

“No people were injured and no property other than the vehicle involved was damaged, so we will not be investigating this accident any further.”

The accident took place at about 11am as the rig was being towed from Kata, the officer said.

“Please drive very carefully at all times,” he added. “This was just a small accident, but if you do not pay attention on the road, it may cost someone their life.”
