Video Report: Man in pink raincoat robs Phuket Family Mart

PHUKET: A man wielding a knife and wearing a pink raincoat jumped over the counter of a convenience store in Thalang early this morning and made off with the contents of a cash register.

Police responding to a call at 3:45am found the two female employees unharmed at the Family Mart at the entrance to Baan Lipon School in Srisoonthorn.

One of the women, Wanna Ketkeaw, 28, explained that in addition to the raincoat, the man had been wearing a black helmet and shorts, said Capt Patiwat Yodkwan of the Thalang Police.

“He walked into the shop and jumped over the counter to force Ms Wanna to input the code to open the cash register,” he said.

“He stole 2,220 baht and fled on a dark blue and white Honda motorbike. The women didn’t get the plate number,” said Capt Patiwat.

“We plan to question the women again and study the CCTV footage for more information.

“Officers on patrol were notified to be on the lookout,” he said.
