Strong waves, winds wash up trash on Phi Phi

PHI PHI: Officials are cleaning up piles of trash that washed up on Hat Noppharat Thara Beach in Phi Phi National Park yesterday due to monsoon season rains and strong waves.
“The beach is about two kilometers long. Most of the trash is plastic bags and bottles that people do not dispose off properly,” said Pinit Engchuan of Phi Phi National Park.
“We are working to clear out the trash as soon as possible. Please help protect the environment by refraining from throwing trash onto the beaches, as it impacts the eco-system,” he said.
