Revved motorbike leads to Phuket stabbing murder
RASSADA, PHUKET: A man was stabbed to death in Phuket last night after complaining about his neighbors’ noisy motorbike.
The 24-year-old victim, Sathit ‘Geng’ Chuanchuen from Suphanburi province, died on the way to Vachira Phuket Hospital of a stab wound to the heart.
Hospital workers alerted police to Mr Sathit’s death at around 12:20am today.
Police examined his body in the Vachira Hospital emergency room before heading to the scene, a rental home about 300 meters down Songkhla Road, near the Tesco Lotus intersection.
Outside they found a pool of blood. The attackers had fled.
Investigation has revealed that Mr Sathit was sitting outside his rented room when three men pulled up on a motorcycle in front of the house across the street.
The driver revved the engine very loudly, which annoyed the victim.
An argument ensued and the men exchanged blows until one of them drew a knife and stabbed Mr Sathit in the heart.
He collapsed immediately and his assailants fled on the bike.
A witness then took the Mr Sathit to the hospital, but he died on the way.
Police believe Mr Sathit probably already had a dispute with the three men, who stayed in the house opposite.
The police are demanding the men hand themselves in for questioning and believe they will have them in custody soon.
In a similar case, two men were recently arrested for stabbing to death a man in their apartment block for ‘making too much noise’.
Phuket natives Niphon and Niphan Kruae-in allegedly stabbed to death Ponsan Noi-oonsaen, 41, on March 21.
They said they were stressed out at the time of the murder because they were unemployed.
