Red Cross blood donation drive schedule for June

PHUKET: Mobile blood donation clinics will be popping up all over the island this month, the Phuket Red Cross announced today.

The Phuket Regional Blood Center (PRBC) is hoping to supplement its limited supplies of O, A, and AB blood types.

“We need to maintain a daily minimum of 200 units of these blood types, in addition to 20 units of Rhesus-negative blood. B-negative type is also urgently needed,” said PRBC chief Pornthip Rattajak.

“We currently have only 60 units of blood type O, 76 units of blood type A and 93 units of blood type AB on hand,”she said. “We already have 203 units of blood type B.”

To help replenish the dwindling stocks, mobile blood donation clinics will be set up throughout June at these locations:

June 3: Tesco Lotus Phuket (in front of Uniqlo), 12am-6pm

June 6: Phuket Vocational College, 9am-3pm

June 8: Royal Paragon Company, Chalong,10am-3pm

June 10: Phuket Panwa Beachfront Resort (Luna Terrace Meeting Room), 1-4 pm

June 14 (World Blood Donor Day): Phuket Regional Blood Center, Phuket Town, 8.30am-8pm

June 15: Outrigger Beach Resort, Laguna Phuket, 10am-3pm

June 17: Tesco Lotus Phuket (in front of Uniqlo), 12am-6pm

June 18: Duangjit Resort, Patong, 10am-3pm

June 21: Deevana Plaza Phuket (Meeting Room), Patong, 1-4pm

June 21: Phuket International Hospital, 1-4pm

June 23: Kalima Resort and Spa (Kalimmax room), Patong, 1-4pm

June 23: Amari Phuket, Patong, 1-4pm

June 27: Movenpick Resort and Spa, Karon Beach, 1-4pm

June 27: The Westin Siray Bay Resort and Spa Phuket, Koh Sirey, 1-4pm

June 29: JW Marriott Resort and Spa, Mai Khao,1-4pm
