Police issue sketch of foreign gunman
CHERNG TALAY: Thai police have issued a sketch of a Western gunman wanted for murdering Thai restaurateur Lor-man Karnjanasadoong last Tuesday at Bang Tao Beach. The gunman is described as being about 170 cm tall, with pale skin and a silver cap on an upper right tooth. Police believe the man goes by the name “Oliver” and that he is probably bald or shaven-headed. Pol Lt Gen Somsak Saibua, Commander of Region 8, which includes Phuket, has ordered police in the country’s major tourist areas to work together on the case. It is believed that the gunman, being a foreigner, may be known in one or more of these places. However, Pol Col Pairoj Paresakul, Superintendent of the Phuket Immigration Office, told the Gazette that it may be difficult to find the suspect “because there are a lot of private boats in Phuket that don’t have to report to anyone.” Lor-man was shot once in the shoulder, twice in the stomach and three times in the face with a 9 mm pistol. The gunman subsequently fired at the dead man’s vehicle, blowing out all the windows, before fleeing in a jeep driven by a Thai accomplice. The sketch of the suspect is currently being distributed throughout Thailand.
