Phuket Memorial for Tony Knight to be held Saturday

PHUKET: The memorial service to mark the passing of popular Phuket yachtsman Tony Knight has been rescheduled to Saturday night.
“There have been many, many messages of sadness over Tony Knight’s death and the loss of a good friend and formidable character, with everyone expressing the desire to attend the wake planned for him,” said Mick Kealy, commodore at Ao Chalong Yacht Club (ACYC).
“The date therefore has been changed in order that more people can attend the ceremony at the Yacht Club and celebrate his life. The wake is now scheduled for Saturday, February 19, from 6pm,” he added.
Photos of Mr Knight will be shown on a projector during the evening. People are asked to drop off CDs at the yacht club or email webmaster@acyc-phuket.com with selections they would like to share.
“The evening will also incorporate a fundraiser, including a raffle, with the money raised going to help support Tony’s family in Australia. We hope all his friends can attend,” he added.
