Open-air cinema part of Boat Lagoon Lighthouse Market tonight, tomorrow
PHUKET: It’s another day of perfect weather in Phuket, so grab your family and friends and head over to the Phuket Lighthouse Market at Boat Lagoon for an evening of eating, chilling and shopping.
To keep the air buzzing, there will be a medley of music at 6pm starting with pop music, and then taking it down a notch hour by hour with Latin Jazz and Blues until a live DJ takes to the turntables at 9pm.
The two-day, free-entrance event will run from 6pm to 10pm.
If you want to catch an open air cinematic experience, arrive at 7pm for a family-oriented movie. However, if animation isn’t your thing, grab a chair at 9pm for a romantic comedy.
“We want to create an outdoor theater concept. Something similar to ‘theater in the park’ or ‘cinema in the park’, which are both very popular community builders in the United States and elsewhere,” explained Kanittha Prasopsirikul, from ‘By Kanittha’, the company behind the market.
In addition to music, movies and a bit of magic, there will be plenty of local vendors plying their wares, as well as food and drink.
In conjunction with the Lighthouse Market, there will be the Krabi Sailing School Regatta, which will be a series of 3-4 races on Corsair Pulse 600 trimarans. The first race is set to start at about noon.
