Murder victim dumped in port area

PHUKET TOWN: The body of an unidentified man was found floating in a canal in the Rassada port area in the early hours of Thursday. Pol Capt Rassada Kloung-Wong, of Phuket Town Police Station, said that a local fisherman discovered the body. “The man was shot twice in the chest with a 9-mm handgun. He was about 35 years old and was wearing a yellow T-shirt with long black pants and Score-brand sandals,” said Capt Rassada. He added that investigators believe the man was killed elsewhere and his body dumped in the canal. “He had been killed about nine hours before his body was found,” he noted. No one in the port area was able to identify the man or provide any information about the killing. Anyone with information that may help to identify the victim or his killer is urged to call Capt Rassada at 076-216256.
