Jet-skis’ truck-trailer chaos gets “okay’ for Phuket beaches

PHUKET: Nothing can be done about the morning and evening chaos caused by jet-ski rental operators driving their trucks and trailers right onto Phuket’s beaches, explained an embattled Phuripat Theerakulpisut, acting director of the Marine Office Region 5.
“I will talk to them about being a bit more organized when they drop off and pick up their jet-skis. However, tourists should understand that at these times of the day, jet-ski operators have to get their machines in or out of the water,” says Mr Phuripat. “Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Pictures of trucks dominating one of Phuket’s beaches were sent to the Phuket Gazette by a reader and forwarded to Mr Phuripat, who said he’d only take action if such a mess were captured between late morning and late afternoon.
“If you can send us a picture like this at 1pm, for example, please forward it to my office or the media,” Mr Phuripat said. “If we have a problem like this, I will take a tough stance with them.”
