Four arrested with ya bah

PHUKET: Police have arrested four people for ya bah violations in separate incidents at Kata Beach and Phuket Town. On Friday, plainclothes police arrested one man and two women at the public housing estate in Tambon Rassada, Phuket Town for possessing 778 tablets of ya bah with intent to sell. According to Pol Lt Col Manus Aemjareonchaikul, an inspector in the narcotics division of the Phuket Town police, Uthai Pongsuwan from Srisaket, Kanika Samuthai from Nakorn Sawan, and Pairoch Bootdee from Chainat were arrested in a sting operation when they tried to sell the drugs to plainclothes police. The three later confessed that they had been selling ya bah in Phuket for about one year. The previous day, a man was arrested for possession of 12 tablets of yah bah in front of the Easy Rider Pub in Kata. Pol Lt Teerawat Liumsuwan from Chalong Police Station told the Gazette that his patrolmen saw Suwit Sangtong behaving suspiciously as he gave a customer a temporary tattoo in front of the pub. When they searched him, they found 12 tablets hidden in a tube inside a pack of cigarettes. The accused later told police he had the drugs because he is an addict.
