Former Kathu Police Deputy killed in Bangkok

BANGKOK (Kom Chad Luek,Gazette): Pol Lt Col Yuthathawee Nakhonkhorn, a former Deputy Superintendent of Kathu District Police Station, was killed in a traffic accident in Bangkok early yesterday morning.

As Col Yuththawee was on his way home from a business meeting, his black Ford Escape sports utility vehicle was involved in a collision with a 10-wheel truck. The accident occurred about 2 am on the Rachawipha Bridge.

Using cutting tools, rescue workers extracted Col Yuthathawee’s body from his vehicle before taking it to the Police Hospital in Bangkok’s Pathumwan District for examination, and for identification by relatives.

By the time police arrived at the scene, the driver of the truck had already fled.

Col Yuthathawee, originally from Bangkok, was Deputy Superintendent responsible for criminal investigations at Kathu District Police Station from 2001 to 2003.

After resigning from the police force he started his own travel company, Global Imex.

He leaves behind a wife and two sons.
