Floating body a murder mystery

PHUKET: Police have few clues in the murder of a man whose body was found floating in the sea near Koh Maiton on Wednesday. The body – probably that of a fisherman – bore at least nine stab wounds on the back and stomach, and had been in the water about six days. It was clad only in a yellow T-shirt and denim jacket. Pol Capt Pin Inmak, of Phuket Town Police Station, said, “We cannot be sure whether he is Thai or Burmese, but the manner of the murder is typically Burmese.” Police estimated the victim was aged 25-30.
