Court accepts Blue Canyon case
PHUKET (The Nation): The Phuket Provincial Court has decided that a complaint filed by a founder of Murex Co, developer of the Blue Canyon Country Club, has sufficient merit for it to proceed. The court set March 29 as the date of the first hearing, allowing the accused, Sia Leng Yeun, an executive of Murex, to defend himself against the complaint. Rawat Chindapol, a founder of Murex Co, has filed two lawsuits against the Singaporean businessman and Blue Canyon Holdings (Thailand), alleging falsification of documents and concealment of information, with intent to take control of Murex. The first lawsuit was lodged with the Phuket Civil Court on January 7, and the other with the Phuket Criminal Court on January 29. According to the complaint filed with the criminal court, K. Rawat claims to have discovered evidence of collusion between Mr Sia and two other directors to falsify documents. K. Rawat alleged that the three had falsified the documents in order to take over Murex, resulting in the stake in the firm belonging to himself and his family being reduced from 65% to 4%.
