AirAsia launches Singapore route with 7.80-baht fare

PHUKET CITY: Thai AirAsia yesterday launched a promotion for flights on its new Singapore-Phuket route by offering 3,000 one-way seats at just 7.80 baht each. The fares do not include airport tax and other fees.

Ticket purchases must be made online at between September 15 and 30 for flights starting on November 5. Once the low-fare tickets are sold out, one-way tickets will be sold at 900 baht.

Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia said, “[We] received tremendous response to our 11 baht fares for Singapore-Bangkok flights. Our latest promotions demonstrate that Thai AirAsia is not only offering one of the lowest fares in the market, but also that we are committed to providing low, affordable fares to enable more people to fly.”

Meanwhile, rival budget carrier Nok Air, a subsidiary of Thai Airways, has announced a twice-daily Bangkok-Phuket service beginning October 15, with one-way ticket prices starting at 1,150 baht including VAT, insurance and airport fees.

Bookings may be made online at or through the Nok Air call center at Tel: 1318.
