ThaiVisa is reporting that an American retiree, living in Bangkok, claims a lady boy stole his wallet in Phuket. She then used his wallet to get a 13,550 baht cash advance at a local 7-Eleven store.

The card was signed and the receipt issued to ‘Gregory M Field’ in English. But, explains ThaiVisa, the lady boy was handed the cash after signing in Thai script.

62 year old Mr Field claims he was pick-pocketed by the lady boy on Patong Beach. He says she got away with 5,000 baht along with the credit card that was then used to extract a cash advance at 7-Eleven.

He is blaming the 7-Eleven staff for being “ridiculously inattentive”.

Mr Field says he expects to get his money back from the bank but he seriously questioned the store and their procedures.

The police are now involved and Mr Field, who lives in Makkasan in Bangkok, has a copy of the alleged thief’s Thai ID card. He has also provided ThaiVisa with a receipt for the cash at 7-Eleven.

Mr Field has been living full time in Thailand for the last six years.
