The Prime Minister of Thailand, Srettha Thavisin, this week had dinner with the organisers of the world-renowned Tomorrowland music festival and told Thai EDM music fans to look forward to plans for the festival coming to Thailand over the next ten years.

PM Srettha shared a picture and some words with the Tomorrowland organising team on his Twitter account on December 6.

“EDM music fans, do you want to come to Tomorrowland? I had dinner with the team last night. Let’s look forward to joining the festival together! And it will not be a one-off event, it could run for ten years!”

Many Thai EDM music lovers expressed their excitement about the festival in the post, stating that the music festival would help boost businesses around the venues as well as the Thai economy.

Other netizens urged the 61 year old prime minister to offer tickets at a reasonable price for Thais, not just foreigners. One Twitter user suggested that the PM pay attention to the facilities and transportation around the venue. The user said she had seen Thais and foreigners walking back to their accommodation from the Rolling Loud music festival in Pattaya.

However, PM Srettha has not yet confirmed when the festival will come to Thailand or where it will be held.

Tomorrowland is one of the most popular music festivals among EDM music lovers, with more than 400,000 people from 150 countries around the world attending each year. It was a week-long music festival that took over the Belgian town of Boom in July of that year.

What makes the event famous is the size of the venue, which covers a large part of the city, together with the stunning event theme, stage decorations, fireworks and performances from more than 400 DJs and the world’s leading EDM artists.

The upcoming event in Belgium will take place over the July weekends of 19-21 and 26-28 next year, 2024. Pre-registration opened on December 6, with ticket packages ranging from 3,700 to 251,000 baht.
